ADDITIONAL ALLERGENS
Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1545 was published in July 2023. In the past, we had 24 allergens that needed to be mentioned in the list of ingredients when their concentration exceeded 0,001% in leave-on products or 0,01% in rinse-off products.
This new regulation identified 56 additional fragrance allergens, which have clearly caused allergies in humans. Those new 56 allergens will need to be individually labelled once a transition period of 3 and 5 years takes place. Please note that certain entries for fragrance allergens were updated. Additionally, similar substances are grouped in one entry. Therefore, one common grouping name should be used for labelling.
Only compliant cosmetic products shall be placed on the EU market from 31/7/2026. If you already had your product on the EU market before the new labelling provisions became applicable, then your deadline is 31/7/2028.
